FLD (Forming limit diagram) is an important tool for evaluating the performance of sheet metal forming, and get the most widely used, and for the hydro-forming pipe, FLD is also very important. Compared with the sheet metal stamping, hydro-forming in mechanical properties has its own characteristics. Therefore, pipe forming ability investigate conditions under assessment is an important issue, but also catch much concern in engineering.
Affected by the welding process, the weld and heat affected zone of ERW steel pipe is obvious, which makes a big difference between the hydraulic forming ERW pipe and seamless steel pipe performance. Picture 1 and 2 is a rupture failure sample under conditions of hydro-forming of seamless steel pipe and ERW steel pipe. Compared to cracks of seamless, ERW steel pipe cracks are located near the base of the welding area, mainly due to the presence of weld changes the pipe plastic flow law, so ERW steel pipes exhibit their unique characteristics.
